Tangerine Subscription Pricing
Tangerine is open-source software, which means anyone can download the source code and run it on their own server—for free. This option is ideal for organizations with the technical capacity to manage their own hosting and support.
However, a paid subscription to Tangerine Central provides a ready-to-use version of Tangerine that’s hosted and maintained for you. Think of it as having your own secure workspace online—your own “instance”—where you can build assessments, collect and access your data, and manage users without worrying about setup, updates, security, or server maintenance.
Subscribers also receive:
Technical support and troubleshooting
Training resources, including Moodle-based courses
Participation in a global peer community of Tangerine user
Contribution to and use of a shared instrument library (coming soon)
This model supports sustainability and collaboration, while keeping the core software free and open to all.
In order to maintain Tangerine, Tangerine Central collects fees for Tangerine services based on usage rates and hosting costs. Subscription fees are per year and per organization.

Host Tangerine Yourself
Tangerine's open nature extends the freedom to host the platform on your personal server and adjust its code to match your needs. The only thing we ask is that if you make changes, you share modified code with the larger community. Tangerine is available to the public through a GNU General Public License.
