Training and Toolkits
Open-access resources for developing and deploying quality assessments
As a service to the Tangerine community, Tangerine Central hosts a set of free learning and reference resources for anyone designing, conducting, or supporting foundational learning assessments.
Tangerine Academy offers self-paced online courses on using Tangerine and running high-quality assessments. The toolkit library gathers key technical materials for the Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and Early Grade Mathematics Assessment (EGMA) in one place.
Tangerine Academy
The Tangerine Academy courses range from quick-start tutorials and data collector training to advanced skip logic, EGRA and EGMA instrument creation and adaptation, classroom observation, and education survey research.
Selected courses are available in English, Spanish, French and Arabic, and learners who create a free account can track their progress and practice with sandbox assessment forms.
Built on Moodle, the open-source learning platform, Tangerine Academy helps ministries, partners, and trainers build the skills to run high-quality assessments on their own schedule.
Toolkit Library
Tangerine Central also provides free access to core reference materials for EGRA and EGMA. These include the full toolkits, technical guidance on subtask design and instrument adaptation, and quick-reference summaries for assessment teams.
Together, the courses and toolkits give ministries, researchers, and implementing partners what they need to design, adapt, and administer rigorous assessments.
Coming soon: an open-licensed library of EGRA and EGMA instruments, so teams can start from existing, field-tested tools rather than building from scratch.
